Andrew Florio – assistant camera / grip

Andrew works as a cinematographer, camera operator, gaffer, grip…you name it, he likely does it.  Being a Jack-of-All trades type of production person is kind of needed nowadays as you scrap and scrape your way into the industry.  It can open more doors.

Many of the skills Andrew has gained come from his days at UC Davis, where he was an executive producer at AGTV, which is Davis’ campus TV news organization run by students.  Fight 4 Your Life creator Bryan Bachar also served on AGTV back in his hay day at UC Davis.  This was just one of the many reasons why Andrew is a perfect fit for this project.  Not only is he a fellow alum, but his skills and passion for filmmaking are evident.

The one studios crew has had a blast having Andrew on board.  Thus far, he’s been a huge help, especially when it came to a really pivotal scene in which green screening was involved.  Andrew’s knowledge of lighting and filming for chroma keying was a tremendous aid to all of our crew that day.

Thank you for all your hard work and for supporting Fight 4 Your Life Andrew!  We look forward to projects to come with you.  Check him out on IMDb and Facebook!

Brandon Kyle – fight choreographer / location scout

Having pursued entertainment and martial arts throughout his life, Brandon Kyle, born Brandon Kyle Umipeg, strives for high intensity and a well balanced life.  When he isn’t rolling around on a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu mat or practicing his MMA skill set, he is likely spending time with his lovely wife Meryll and French Bulldog/self proclaimed son Tums.

This Vallejo, CA native also loves taking drives in his classic Mustang, his cherished car.  But cars aren’t his only ride of choice.  Put Brandon on a snowboard and he feels right at home!

An avid San Francisco 49ers fan, Brandon loves the thrill of sport.  As mentioned, he practices mixed martial arts and has competed in the ring many times, even having earned a championship belt.  His skills and drive have been of great benefit to Fight 4 Your Life.

When Brandon met Fight 4 Your Life director Bryan Bachar through online contact they quickly set up a meeting to discuss bringing  Brandon on board.  What was suppose to be a common meeting turned into a two hour talk fest.

“Brandon and I just clicked.  It was obvious we are on the same wave length and when you connect with someone like that it is simply a blessing.  I don’t know what we would have done without Brandon on this project.  He’s helped with fight choreography.  He’s acted.  And he’s been instrumental in locking in several key locations for us that there is no way we would have gotten without him.  I am honored to have him now as both a colleague and a friend.”  – Bryan Bachar

Look out for Brandon in Fight 4 Your Life, and be a friend and like him on Facebook!

Jonathan Calizar – fight choreographer / casting associate

Sixth Degree Black Belt KJN, Jonathan Calizar, has been training with Ernie Reyes’ West Coast Martial Arts since the age of four.  He has traveled nationally with the Ernie Reyes Demonstration Team.  He is experienced in Tae Kwon Do, Wu-shu, gymnastics and a variety of martial arts.

With thirteen years of teaching experience, Jonathan still follows his passion for instructing students.  Having moved to Folsom, CA in July of 2004, he proudly has honored the opportunity to teach the Martial Arts way.  One of his favorite quotes comes from Kwan Jang Nim Scott Coker,

“It’s not the teacher who teaches, it’s how the teacher teaches.”

Jonathan says,

“I’ve learned a lot in my brief lifespan, but what I will always remember are all the people who supported me.  Unfortunately, the list would never end!  So to everyone who supported me in the decisions I’ve made, I want to thank you for being there for me, and I will forever be indebted to you.”

Jonathan has served as a fight and stunt choreographer for Fight 4 Your Life, having met director Bryan Bachar through mutual colleague, and dear friend to B, Eliot Kelly.  B was amazed at the crazy acrobatics and high-flying kicks Jonathan could execute with precision.

“There was without a doubt Jonathan had to be a part of this film.  His abilities separate him from the pack.  He’s the kind of guy that you watch and say, yeah, he’s a professional.  Jon belongs in the movies.”  – Bryan Bachar aka B

And lucky for Bryan, Jonathan’s flare carries over into his attitude on camera as well.  A natural actor, he also plays one of the main villains in F4YL.  Working with lead Brandon J. Woods, a fight everyone is sure to remember was choreographed.

We thank Jonathan for his continued support and dedication to Fight 4 Your Life.  His energy and positive attitude has been addictive…and during the long shoots we need that!  Like a handful of F4YL‘s cast and crew members, Jonathan has been with this project since the very start, having also been in the F4YL short film in 2012.  This just shows the character of Mr. Calizar, as he is truly a loyal friend and a man of his word.  The one studios crew forever thanks you Jonathan.  We are in YOUR debt!

Check Jonathan out on the official El Dorado Hills West Coast Martial Arts site, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter!

Logan Williams – camera op / assistant camera / assistant director

Logan Williams is a filmmaker and writer from Sacramento, CA with a M.F.A. in film production from Loyola Marymount University in Southern California.  Logan’s passion for film making far exceeds simple words.  He has made it his career, his life.

“What is film to me?  Film is that which I cannot make real, seem real.  Altogether one might say that film overall is a lie, a compromise that states something.  In that statement then I want to find and reveal a truth that I would be otherwise unable to do in this thing we call life.”  – Logan Williams

Having gained immense experience while living in Los Angeles for close to a decade, Logan has worked on many film and video projects, many being his own short films.  He takes great pride in his film making, not sparing any details.

This has been apparent to Fight 4 Your Life creator, Bryan Bachar since first meeting Logan in 2011:

“I met Logan when we joined up to do a 48 Hour Film contest in Sacramento.  Over the duration of that weekend I saw his passion for film making and his eye for detail.  He is a story teller, something I hold great value for, as you need to be one in order to be a solid filmmaker.  Since that project I’ve been fortunate to witness Logan continue to grow into the artist I could tell he was then.  Sky’s the limit for this dude!”

Logan has regularly aided one studios on projects over the years, whether video based or films.  In fact, he came up from Southern California way back in 2012  to help shoot the short film version of Fight 4 Your Life, which started everything.  We wish nothing but the best for this honorary member of the one studios crew.  And we thank him for all his hard work and dedication.  Get ’em Logan!

Check Logan out on IMDb, Vimeo, LinkedIn and Facebook.  Here’s one of Logan’s films one studios aided him on!

Stephanie Shen – executive producer / financial adviser

Stephanie Shen is one hard working individual.  Not only is she a business graduate student at the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley, but she also holds down a full time job at music streaming company Rdio in San Francisco, CA, where she also resides.

A real passion for worldly travel, Stephanie, or Steph as her friends call her, looks to transfer into international financial consulting upon graduating.  In fact, she was accepted into a prestigious program that will ship her off in the summer of 2014 to a country unknown in origin to her until right before she is sent off.  WOW!  It is sure to be a great experience for her, and one that a first year graduate student rarely is chosen for.  Exciting indeed!  This will be a perfect intro to test the waters in the field she’s striving for.

Stephanie has aided Fight 4 Your Life behind the scenes since its beginning stages in 2012.  She has served as an executive producer and financial adviser, helping in any way she can in order to make the film a success.  The one studios crew owes her the world and knows she will be at the top of whatever it is she chooses to partake in throughout life.  Truly, her drive and promise are without measure.  THANK YOU Stephanie!

Check Steph out on LinkedIn!

TJ Kuahine – background music / soundtrack artist

Music producer, artist, Team Alpha Male fighter from Waianae, HI, now living in Sacramento, CA, T.J. Kuahine is a man who doesn’t no the meaning of the word cliche.  So often people get grouped into certain categories by those they choose to associate themselves with.

It would be easy to call T.J. an athlete or jock, because he is, with him being a dedicated mixed martial arts fighter having wrestled through high school and then moving to Sacramento to live and train with UFC superstar Urijah Faber and his Team Alpha Male.  It would also be easy to call him a musician, because he is, with him having produced countless beats for tons of singers, rappers and musicians alike.  The bottom line is T.J. is the perfect example of what it is to go against stereotypes and the norm.

T.J. is many things, as we all are.  And he is not afraid to demonstrate through how he lives what it is to be true to yourself.  A longtime friend of Fight 4 Your Life director Bryan Bachar, T.J. has been part of one studios projects for years, providing music and more.  We are happy to have this talented artist on our team yet again as he aids in the music for F4YL.  We thank you for everything you do $upaFlyTeddy$upaFly!  Keep those beats blastin’ and livin’ the dream.

Check out T.J., his beats, his fights and more on his personal site, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and SoundCloud!

F4YL “Intro” Teaser Trailer (Feature Film) (VIDEO)

This is the first official teaser trailer of Fight 4 Your Life, the feature film debut from one studios.  Unlike trailers in the past, which have used footage from the short film version of F4YL, from which the F4YL feature stems, this is the first trailer that uses all actual footage from the upcoming full length film.  We hope you enjoy and are intrigued.  That’s what a teaser is meant to do!

Our goal with this trailer is to gain curiosity about our humble project here, as we realize there is much left to mystery even after watching it.  That’s the point amigos.  Teased yet?  😉

Keep your eyes peeled for more trailers in the near future, including the full length theatrical trailer, which will go into more depth about the film’s story and such.  For more info on F4YL be sure to check out the plethora of resources on this site.  Read up on character descriptions, cast and crew bios, the film’s plot, it’s origins and journey and more.  There’s also lots of awesome media for you to view and listen to.  Heck, there’s even free downloads for your enjoyment!

Ok, enough blabbing.  Here’s the trailer.  You can also view the “Running” teaser trailer, made from footage of the short film version of F4YL, HERE.  It might be fun to compare and contrast the two.

FIGHT!!!

F4YL “Running” Teaser Trailer (Short Film Version) (VIDEO)

The following teaser trailer was developed from the footage we shot in 2012 for the short film version of Fight 4 Your Life.  Our goal with this teaser was to demonstrate to the best of our abilities at the time the style and color schemes we were going to go for in developing the Fight 4 Your Life feature length film.  It’s important to note that the short was not shot with much of the color schemes, style, visual FX and more depicted in this trailer in mind.  So, it was a challenge to tweak things to a respectable level for what we wanted.

With that said, we were also aiming for this teaser to gather enough interest to gain the support of our local filmmaking community.  This was very important in the casting and development process, and more, because it allowed potential cast and crew to see we had a vision, and that we were not simply talking about it.  The teaser also showed we had already put in a lot of work on this project, further illustrating our seriousness about it coming to fruition.

The short film version of F4YL has only been seen by a select few people involved in that production.  We’ve held off showing it to people because it would reveal too much story line of the feature, which shares the same basic structure, even if immensely more detailed and added to.  Truly, they are two different films with strong likenesses, if that makes sense.  But we want that to be seen later, not now!

The actual finished version of the short has been seen by even fewer eyes since the version showed to most people was a rough cut.  Director/editor Bryan Bachar was already in heavy with the feature version of F4YL when he completed tying things up with the short.  So, there you go.

Plan to definitely see the short version of F4YL in the future though, likely on the DVD under special features when everything is said and done!  Then viewers can compare and contrast to all their hearts’ desire.  Anyway, here’s the teaser!  Can you see the similarities between it’s style, color schemes and more and those of the current feature version teaser trailer?  Check the feature “Intro” teaser trailer HERE.

New Teaser!!! – Official Feature Teaser RELEASE!

Supporters, friends, colleagues and all of the above, we are proud to announce the release of the first official teaser trailer for the feature length version of Fight 4 Your Life!  Is it a coincidence that the launch of this trailer falls near the birthday of Fleet Blackwood himself, Mr. Brandon J. Woods???  Nope.  No coincidence at all.  🙂  Happy BDay Mr. Woods!

The one studios crew is continuing to work hard on the ongoing production of F4YL.   But as we edge nearer and nearer to wrapping production we are able to put more info out about the film….to your benefit!  This teaser is meant to intrigue and entertain, leaving you wondering and wanting more….and keeping you coming back to the F4YL site for further media and info.  So, we hope it succeeds in doing so!

Expect more trailers in the near future, including the full length theatrical trailer.  We’ll also be releasing more character, cast and crew bios soon, as well as launching our Soundtrack Contest.  Lots on the horizon.  Lots coming at you quick!  Until then, keep up the good fight!

Another Set of Shoots Down!

Happy New Year everyone!  We truly hope your holiday season was a fantastic time, spent with all of your loved ones.

The one studios crew has been working diligently to ensure Fight 4 Your Life stays true to its course.  The holidays may have been upon us, but we continued to push!  From January 1st through January 5th we had F4YL star Brandon J. Woods back from the east coast, where he is attending the Harvard School of Medicine, to shoot a string of scenes.  The shoots went great!  And it was awesome to have Brandon, aka Fleet Blackwood, back on set.

As we progress into 2014….WOW…..one studios will be shooting further scenes/shots without Mr. Woods during the months of January, February and March.  Our teenage Fleet, Antonio Mulqueeney, will be taking the reins for several of these shoots.  Wish him luck!

In addition to these shoots, we will be preparing with much vigor for having Brandon back in the spring for his final shoots, which happen to be the final scenes that will be needed for Fight 4 Your Life‘s completion!!!  Exciting news indeed!  We can’t wait to finish, but we are taking in every moment of this journey.  It’s priceless.  And we have some great stuff coming for you to check out over the coming months to show our progress….one being the first official teaser trailer for F4YL!!!

Thank you, as always, to everyone involved throughout this strenuous process.  And for those that are not directly involved, thank you for your support!  Fight 4 Your Life would not be possible without each and every one of you.  A very special thanks to all of the location providers for this past week’s shoots:
